Operation & Maintenance Assessment
A formal review of existing processes and work practices to
determine the effectiveness of the current O&M Strategies, evaluate the use of new
technology and automation tools, and determine the impact of implementing a
condition-based maintenance approach on maintenance performance. A detailed
implementation plan will be developed which outlines a step-by-step process for automating
periodic activities, incorporating PDM technologies, and developing
a new work process which optimizes the use of condition monitoring information to direct
maintenance activities. Specific areas of focus include:
- Developing a new O&M process for equipment monitoring, work identification and maintenance management, which is driven by condition/predictive data.
- Automating periodic rounds through the use of bar-coding technology and portable data-loggers and PC's
- Developing an integrated database to warehouse equipment information and diagnostic data
- Incorporating simple PDM activities into periodic rounds (vibration, oil, infrared, acoustics, etc.)
- Performing an equipment baseline survey using advanced PDM technologies
- Developing security access protocols for customer access to data, trends, and reports on the Internet
- Reviewing existing PM/PDM activities and developing an optimization strategy
- Identifying periodic data collection activities for future automation efforts (i.e. I&C calibrations, electrical testing activities, lubrication tasks, etc.)
